Former Super Mario Bros. world record holder

Niftski is an American speedrunner best known for pushing Super Mario Bros. (1985) to its limits. Since starting in 2019, he's set numerous world records in the game's main categories, and in April 2021 became the first person to complete a full clear in under 4 minutes 55 seconds — a milestone the speedrunning community compared to breaking the four-minute mile. In October 2023 he simultaneously held every major Super Mario Bros. speedrun record, and he held the any% world record for a long stretch before it was eventually taken over by another runner. He still holds top times in The Lost Levels and several popular ROM hacks, and streams his runs and practice sessions regularly. Off stream, he's a spicy Chick-fil-A regular — no pickles. He has nothing against Dannys in general, just the one Danny. His setup includes a controller, a capture card, and a hand dehumidifier — the true unsung MVP of any sub-4:55.
